The Liebherr moving Kishorn stone

Kishorn Stone is constantly being evaluated for a wide variety of end uses and at present Leiths have samples of Roadstone under test for Major Roads Works in Holland and Germany and we have received an expression of interest from French Rail Companies to provide samples of Rail Ballast for their high speed train network. It is worthwhile to note that the quality of stone required for these works is not available in France and many other European Countries.

The Kishorn site has been identified in Scottish Enterprises’ recently published National Renewables Infrastructure Plan (NRIP) as a potential manufacturing and distribution hub for the offshore renewables industry. The combination of deep water berthing, a dry dock, on site stevedoring facilities and a quarry/concrete production unit make it an ideal candidate for this growing sector of Scottish industry. Kishorn Port Ltd has been created to promote this opportunity, with the support of HIE.
